Empowered Connections invites you to a special two-part workshop on 24 February, designed to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in pursuing meaningful employment and entrepreneurship.

Workshop 1: Setting Up a Microenterprise

Discover how entrepreneurship can be a powerful and inclusive path to employment! Three microenterprise business owners will share their journeys, offering real-world insights into:

  • Getting started – turning an idea into reality
  • Structuring for success – navigating finances and sustainability
  • Marketing strategies – reaching the right audience
  • Future opportunities – innovating for growth

Workshop 2: Meaningful Work for People with Disability

This session will explore Customised Employment, a flexible and personalised approach to job seeking. Topics include:

  • Using DISCOVERY to uncover strengths and interests
  • Leveraging personal networks for employment opportunities
  • Understanding the role of paid and family supports
