Principal’s Desk: April 2019

First and foremost, I want to thank our students, our families and friends for the role they played in ensuring Term 1, 2019, was a dynamic, industrious and positive term for our school. I also want to acknowledge the skills and commitment they have once more demonstrated to ensure that your children received the quality educational experiences they deserve and that the term ran as smoothly as it has.

School Councillors I congratulate the following students for being elected as our School Councillors for 2019, namely;

  • Tyson M (Primary Representative)
  • Isabel P (Primary Representative)
  • Patrick R (Primary Representative)
  • Aldi H (Secondary Representative)
  • Gryffydd J (Secondary Representative)
  • Ritcher M (Secondary Representative).

I know these wonderful young people will prove to be great representatives of our student body this year, and look forward to working with them.

Enrolments 2019, once again, sees an increase in our enrolments. As is evident the school has experienced a growth over the past five years or so. The projections made at the end of 2019, of 86 students, has been surpassed. There continues to be strong interest in the school, I have accepted 5 Kindy enrolments this term; while several possible enrolments are still in play. Due to the influx of new Kindy students a new Early Intervention Program has been established; which will run Wednesdays to Fridays. We welcome a new graduate teacher Juanita Ford to the Kenwick fold who will be in charge of this class.

In closing, I want to wish all parents and caregivers a wonderful, safe April Term break with your children. I look forward to connecting with you all again in Term 2, which I remind you commences on Tuesday, 30 April.

Best wishes,

Mark Watson Principal
