What an awesome term we are going to have, with “Super Hero Day”, “Book Week” and our Assembly item. The students continue to enjoy their Community Access and this term we have already been to Armadale and Carousel. While at Armadale, Richter investigated things we could buy at Kmart for his ASDAN and when at Carousel we explored items in the Japanese Shop, including a Japanese doll dressed in a Kimono. It is great that we have been able to mix with Room 13 for cooking this term and so far, we have helped make Chicken Tortillas and Fried Rice. Dawn, Sam, Mikayla and Ben usually love the food we cook, but this week we were thrilled to see Tahlia enjoy a small bowl of the rice dish. After putting the ingredients into a bowl, the students took turns to press a switch to turn on the mixer when making a cake. Richter had the biggest smile as he tasted the mixture. Harrison independently used his new device to ask for cake. It is wonderful to see Harrison back at school every day and we look forward to seeing him use his communication device more and more.
Our Assembly is about ‘Respect’ and we have been working as a team with the Room 8 girls to get things ready. We hope you enjoy it.
