Room 14: Book Week Awards

What an eventful and exciting term we are having. Book Week was amazing and thanks go to the hard working committee, who gave us so many fun things to do culminating in a whole School celebration. We are so proud of Room 14 for winning all three high school awards. – ‘Best Costume High School Student’ (Tahlia, who came as Charlotte’s Web). ‘Best Class Participation for the Week’ and also ‘Best Costume High School Staff’. All of our students looked amazing and thanks to parents and staff for their effort. We all loved The Very Interactive Sensory Story “Big Rain Coming”by Sensorium. Tahlia and Dawn loved the music especially, while everyone else was excited to touch and smell all the other props. The big soft fluffy clouds brought smiles to everyone’s faces. Our story was “The Terrible Plop”which was about an apple dropping from a tree and we pressed switches to access the sound effects of the story. We saw the apples drop into a bucket of water, bought some apples on Community Access and made some puppets to show the animals in the story. Our last story was about “Pirates” and we loved the Pirate songs and got to be Pirates with treasure. We have new switches and the students can make changes to animations on the whiteboard by pressing a switch to play games. Richter is doing a wonderful job using two switches to scan and make his choice on the “Chooseitmaker” and “Helpkidzlearn” programs. We all enjoyed Superhero Day on Friday – more dress ups.
