It has been a very busy start to the second term in Room 13 with the change of students and staff. Our new students have settled well in their new class and seem to feel comfortable with all activities. A big focus of the programme in our class has been teaching our boys to use their chat mats and visuals to communicate their needs. The students are learning to ask to go to the playground to have a swing instead of walking out of the classroom. Some of our students started a car wash programme on Mondays and did a great job helping to wash three staff members’ cars. We are also looking forward to starting our community access this term and hope the boys will feel comfortable and happy during our outings.
