The highlight of the past weeks has most certainly been the many and varied activities leading up to and including Book Week activities. Our theme was based on the book ‘The Day The Crayons Quit’ by Drew Daywalt and illustrated by Oliver Jeffers. We had fun with the story and were able to generate activities to reinforce skills such as colour recognition, correctly naming colours, selecting favourite colours as well as pencil grip, colouring in between the lines and some opportunities for painting, cutting and gluing. Thank you, Tegan, (Art Teacher) for loaning us your book. Unfortunately, I was away and unable to dress-up as my favourite Rainbow Crayon. Thank you, Ann for stepping in! And a huge thanks to Kylie for her creativity with our costumes.
